Job Description:
MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated Emergency Vehicle Operator
to join our dynamic emergency services team. As a key player in our
mission to provide exceptional patient-first health care, the
Emergency Vehicle Operator is responsible for the safe and
efficient transportation of patients, medical personnel, and
equipment to and from medical facilities and emergency scenes.
Operating within the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, this role
demands a highly competent driver who can navigate complex traffic
environments quickly and safely under stressful conditions. This
position is critical in our emergency operations, ensuring rapid
response times and contributing to the successful outcome of
patient care. Operate emergency vehicles in a safe, efficient
manner while complying with all governmental and company
regulations. Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner to
transport patients, clinical staff, and necessary medical
equipment. Maintain vehicle readiness, including cleanliness,
stocking of supplies, and routine maintenance checks. Collaborate
with healthcare personnel to ensure the safety and comfort of
patients during transport. Document transport details accurately
and secure patient information within privacy guidelines.
Participate in ongoing training and skills assessments to remain
compliant with the latest safety protocols and medical procedures.
Proficiency in navigating complex routes and making quick decisions
under pressure Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in
high-stress situations Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Physical fitness to perform job duties, including lifting and
