make a difference!Job Summary:The Cloud Architect represents US
Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) interests within the USPS Chief
Information Office, Architecture, Strategy, and Innovation team,
commonly referred to as CASI. This position will provide support
for all USPIS solutions that require CASI approval. This includes
support for applications supporting criminal investigations,
administrative programs, and the implementation of a USPIS specific
cloud solution that would comply with Federal Bureau of
Investigations Criminal Justice Information System policies and
requirements.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- The position will be embedded within the USPS CASI to focus on
and advance USPIS projects.
- Ensure alignment with USPS AS-805 security policies and FedRAMP
standards.
- Ensure proper documentation for Assessment and Authorization
(A&A) in SaaS environments.
- May conduct regular security scans and risk assessments,
delivering remediation plans when necessary.
- Ensure USPIS solutions comply with Section 508 of the
Rehabilitation Act, ensuring accessibility for employees and
customers with disabilities.
- Ensure USPS IT governance, security, and infrastructure
policies are met.
- Adherence to Technology Solution Life Cycle requirements.
- Ensure compliance with processes for configuration management
and patching.
- Support USPS in continuous monitoring activities, updating
security documentation, and validating system compliance every 90
days or as otherwise required.
- Complete mandatory USPS cybersecurity or other training as
required.Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 8 years
of experience demonstrating a deep working knowledge of all aspects
of Cloud Development Platforms.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for
management briefings and technical recommendations.
- Proficiency in analyzing and evaluating business systems,
identifying requirements, and developing cost-effective
solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud technologies, Agile development,
continuous integration, and test-driven development.
- Expertise in designing and deploying scalable cloud business
software or managing infrastructure, network, and storage
systems.
- Advanced understanding of cloud services from Amazon,
Microsoft, or Google, and integration with on-premise
technologies.
- Familiarity with IT compliance standards like SOX and PCI in
regulated environments.
- Automation skills using tools such as Python, PowerShell,
Ansible, or Terraform.
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise-wide architecture,
including high availability and performance

- Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to attend
meetings with other managers and employees. Standing for prolonged
and extended periods of time.

- Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use
a telephone system 100% of the time.
