A Large IT Support company is looking for a Data Center Technician. This DC Tech must be a self-starter and be able to organize the onsite supplies and storage areas for work and use. The Data Center Technician along with their partner will be responsible for a single data center. There will be no travel needed between sites. Looking for only long-term career individuals. The average tenure of teams in the past is from 8-11 years.

Qualifications:

MUST have experience with structured cabling.
Experience with racking and stacking enterprise networking gear.
Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting cabling system issues.
Identify, track and remove abandoned cables.
Test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures.

Able to test and troubleshoot Data Center cabling using testing equipment along with connectors and types of wires.

Keep cables neatly tied and bundled while maintaining a safety stand.
Record time and materials used.

Update work status on a team SharePoint site and ServiceNow Ticketing system (must have experience and be able to close tickets).

Requires some schedule flexibility for very occasional after-hours testing (one of the two team members can come in later to accommodate the after-hours).
The ideal candidate will be an IT Tech generalist who has worked for a data center team in the near past.

Pay Range for CA, CO, IL, NJ, NY, WA, and DC: $25/hour to $27/hour. Starting rate of pay offered may vary depending on factors including but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
