Job Description:
Summary:
The Planning Scheduling Analyst is responsible for providing
planning, scheduling, training, inspection (preventative
maintenance) set-ups, equipment specification updates, data entry,
parts/warehouse updates and the maintenance of records and files
essential to analyzing and reporting of maintenance-related matters
in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system.
The primary role is to improve workforce productivity and work
quality, training of CMMS system requirements, system set-ups and
eliminating potential delays through the planning and coordination
of personnel, parts and material, and equipment access.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Screen and update mechanical and maintenance requests for
completeness, accuracy, appropriate prioritization and necessity
while working with the CMMS Data Analyst for best practice industry
standards.
Capture all necessary parts and asset information for the
Purchasing department to purchase items for warehouse and use.
Attend all mandatory safety, environmental and industry guidelines
training.
Write work requests in accordance with company procedures and
industry best practices and update for accuracy.
Review and upload all documents such as schedules, asset
documentation, work orders, and staffing lists to identify
personnel and materials requirements, and priorities.
Promote data driven asset decisions. Calculate figures such as
required amounts of labor and materials, wages, and equipment
rentals; and update templates on an ongoing basis.
Perform job site visits and promote employee training in order to
assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and
specifications for job planning. This includes communicating and
the training of the appropriate personnel in best practice industry
standards and CMMS procedures.
Prepare work plans and inspections to provide the appropriate level
of detail, including detailed directions, sketches, impact on plant
operations, skill levels for job, resource estimates, bill of
materials, staff schedules and safety needs.
Maintain the work order backlog (e.g., unplanned, requiring
engineering, awaiting materials, awaiting equipment access),
including preparing reports and scheduling meetings to convey data
compiled.
Maintain work history database, to include determining if a job has
been performed previously and the nature of the reoccurrence and
update database on an ongoing basis.
Make recommendations to repair, rebuild, or replace items, as
appropriate using historical data to drive decisions.
Develop maintenance routes and inspections and initiate training
activities to facilitate proper maintenance adherence.
Promote proper close-out mechanical and facility corrective
maintenance work orders, ensuring that accurate data was gathered
to build a valid history file to better maintenance activities.
Ensure that the responsible Maintenance Supervisor receives and
understands the planning package for each scheduled job.
Confer with personnel, vendors, and customers to coordinate work
activities, and provide detailed specifications and documentation
to eliminate delays.
Inform Maintenance Supervisor of abnormal or critical situations
and seek advice.
Provide recommendations for system improvement, to include
providing feedback to Maintenance Supervisor and CMMS Data Analyst
regarding actions to avoid repetitive repairs.
Create catalog items and maintain vendor resources appropriately
within CMMS.
Write standard operating procedures and update routinely.
Perform long-range maintenance planning (e.g., preventive
maintenance, planned equipment rebuilds).
Maintain equipment calibration schedule.
Monitor that internal and external compliance requirements have
been met.
Actively promotes safe behaviors and health awareness at all times
in the execution of daily tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Education and/or Experience:
Planning and scheduling experience required.
An equivalent combination of education, relevant military and work
experience or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or
Business Management required.
Eight (8) years of experience in water/wastewater plant activities
desired.
Position requires good communication and interpersonal skills,
including strong team building skills. Must be able to communicate
effectively both in writing and orally.
Knowledge of the maintenance of equipment relating to physical,
chemical, and biological wastewater treatment processes
desired.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel at
an intermediate or advanced level, industrial Computerized
Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge desired.
Ability to make decisions, train and solve problems, to include
analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best
solution and solve problems.

While performing the duties of the job, typical of office work, and
include lifting to 10 pounds, and minimal pushing or pulling.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are
representative of those an employee encounters while performing the
essential functions of this job. Environmental conditions
necessitate following strict safety guidelines and use of Personal
Protective Equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee performs work indoors in a climate-controlled environment,
with outdoor trips between buildings and some outdoor work
required. Some areas of the plant are hot and humid at times.
