*Contingent Upon Award* JOB SUMMARY The Senior Systems Engineer, serving as a key personnel member, holds a critical role in overseeing operations and maintenance activities for data communications networks and complex, multi-tier operational environments. In the event of Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS) migration to the cloud, this position will be responsible for supervising the migration process and ensuring the continuous operation of the new cloud-based system. The Senior Systems Engineer will also play a pivotal role in implementing, supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the network hardware, software, and communications links within the ATRRS cloud infrastructure. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Operations Supervision: Oversee operations and maintenance activities for data communications networks and complex, multi-tier operational environments. Cloud Migration: In the event of ATRRS migration to the cloud, supervise the migration process and maintain the new cloud system. Network Management: Implement, support, maintain, and optimize the network hardware, software, and communications links within the ATRRS cloud infrastructure. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in management and technical areas relevant to the role. + Experience in an environment similar to ATRRS in terms of size and complexity. + Experience in data network and systems administration, including technical leadership in network integration and testing. + Experience in designing, planning, managing, maintaining, and supporting an organization's cloud computing environment. + Active Secret Clearance required KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES + Proficiency in LAN and WAN data communications protocols (TCP/IP, ATM, frame relay, X.400, and X.500), and the ability to conduct protocol analysis. + Skills in fault management, configuration control, change management, and performance monitoring. + Ability to engineer, implement, and document solutions based on customer requirements and best practices. + Proficiency in network and system resource/service activation, backup, deactivation, and restart. + Strong troubleshooting skills related to communication devices, hardware and software, LAN/MAN/WAN, and security incidents. + Knowledge of scheduling network conversions, cutovers, and operational environment improvements. + Supervisory experience in maintaining operational environment activities, including communications, storage, security, hardware, and software. + Excellent coordination skills with users, technical teams, and senior management across multiple network sites.
