training to attain their Reactor Operator License from the NRC.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (*essential job
functions)Candidates attending class with the intent of attaining
an RO License.Study time, field time needed to attain licensed
status. Other duties, as assigned, to support site operations.
Hourly Pay Rate starting at $63.12 QualificationsJob
Specifications: Education/Experience: High school education or
equivalent and should possess a high degree of manual dexterity and
mature judgement. Must have a minimum of 3 years of power plant
experience (credits can be applied for academic equivalence.)Must
have at least 6 months as a qualified non-licensed operator on site
(or 12/18 months at a comparable/non-comparable commercial power
reactor facility.)ORMust have at least 6 months experience as an
active reactor operator at a comparable commercial power reactor
facility (or 9 months at a non-comparable commercial power reactor
facility.)ORMust have at least 24 months experience in a position
equivalent to the reactor operator position at a military reactor
(qualified to manipulate or direct the manipulation of control
rods.) Knowledge: Knowledge of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR)
&/or Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) plant systems.
Skills/Abilities: Candidates should have high personal initiative,
good oral, written, computer, mathematical and interpersonal
skills. The ability to read, write and analyze reports and written
materials, e.g. piping and instrument diagrams. The ability to see,
hear, and speak to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper
safety conditions. Demonstrated responsibility, reliability, and
leadership. Ability to exercise good judgment in handling
operations under pressure. Other: Satisfactory completion of the
Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) nuclear and BMST is
required.
