Senior Systems Engineer
Full-time Systems/Software Engineer position in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) with a specific focus on unmanned surface vehicles.
This position will provide unmanned platform and combat systems SE and analysis support. Duties may include: (1) Developing systems engineering plans, capability description documents and performance specifications (2) Providing review and recommendations on combat systems integration technical issues; (3) Conducting risk management and assessments; (4) Reviewing requirements traceability and analysis; and (5) Providing technical assessments, evaluations, and analysis on system problems.
Fifteen (15) years of General Surface Navy Combat Systems engineering experience with at least seven (7) years of specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as significant systems engineering responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:
a) Combat Systems Cyber Security;
b) Ships Self Defense System;
c) Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense Antisubmarine Warfare Trainer (CIAT);
d )Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) class frigate;
e) Aegis Integrated Combat Systems;
f) DDG-1000 Zumwalt class destroyer;
g) Track Management;
h) Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense;
i) Weapon/Combat Systems Experience.
Experience with carriers, DDGs, CGs, LCS, large deck, smaller amphibious ships or land based test sites is preferred.
Additionally, must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the BCI team and customers. Two (2) years experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred. A formal degree supporting systems engineering, software engineering or significant analysis experience is always a plus.
