Job Description:
Overview
The Task Lead Space supports the Office of Secretary Defense,
Special Capabilities Office (OSD/SCO) and its mission partners in
their planning, coordination, execution and reporting on prototype
fielding, operations, and transition activities for Space
capability areas.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize, orchestrate, monitor quality, and ensure completion
of critical tasks in support of overall space segment
execution.
- Produce, consolidate, and deliver programmatic and technical
advisement to space acquisition activities.
- Delegate and track technical tasks in support of space segment
and overall program execution.
- Regularly engage with space acquisition Mission Partners
including other Government agencies, to facilitate constructive and
transparent relationships.
- Track cross-cutting team tasks and ensure internal project
deadlines are met.
- Develop and maintain program budget and schedule estimates.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree and 7 years relevant experience or Master's
Degree and 5 years relevant experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with prior DoD SAP experience and
current SAP eligibility.
- Strong organizational and oral and written communication
skills.
- Thrives in a dynamic, customer-focused environment where every
day brings a new problem to solve.
- Experience with DoD space systems and understanding of
warfighter needs.
- 5+ years experience with all phases of satellite acquisition
planning, execution, and delivery to ops.
- Extensive knowledge of satellite assembly, integration, and
test (AI&T) procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity w/Systems Tool Kit (STK) desired.
Preferred:
- Experience delivering small satellites, a strong understanding
of space operations, strong writing/presentation skills, and the
ability to support week-long exercise engagements twice a
year.
- Able to articulate complex space acquisition and operations
activities to non-space professionals in a multi-domain test,
exercise, and operations environment.
- Knowledge of non-kinetic Kill Chain Analysis methodology to
enhance or develop new DoD capabilities in support of Combatant
Command contingencies and operations.
