National Services (VOANS) is a national, nonprofit, faith-based
organization of nearly 16,000 paid, professional employees. In
addition to helping older adults achieve their highest levels of
health and independence in our senior living and care communities,
we're dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and
reach their full potential. VOANS is seeking a dynamic and
creative, Social Media Intern to support the Recruitment Team to
develop and implement outreach and promotional campaigns to boost
brand exposure and increase candidate engagement. The selected
candidate will be working closely with the HR Manager and Director
of Talent Acquisition and will provide day-to-day support to
ongoing projects and initiatives, of different sizes, at different
stages. The ideal candidate must excel in written and verbal
communications, be technically savvy, be a self-started and manage
multiple assignments at a time. This position is full-time (up to
40 hours per week) and has the capacity for Hybrid schedules. The
internship is unpaid, however, a stipend is provided. Primary
Responsibilities:
- Creating monthly editorial articles and videos to promote VOANS
brands on various social media platforms
- Creating compelling graphics to share across social channels
VOANS
- Developing new strategies for increasing engagement in new
platforms
- Capturing photos and employee engagement at live and online
events for social media content
- Editing and converting videos between various formats for
delivery
- Creating Motion Graphics and compositing
- Assisting in Living production
- Producing a variety of short videos to market the
organization.
- Attending project-related meetings, capturing notes and actions
items, and assisting to work with other interns Required Knowledge,
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of design principles and own current tools to perform
video editing
- Adhering to workflow standards and process
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform effectively under
pressure
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills implementing
direction and feedback
- Strong visual style and familiarity with such concepts such as
composition, light, space, shape, etc. as they pertain to
photography/videography
- Basic understanding and skill with the broad aspects of live
video production: Access to a video camera and knowledge (frame
rates, shutter speeds, aperture, ISO, white balance, composition),
simple lightings setups
- Technically savvy and an understanding of interactive
technology Qualifications: -Physical Capabilities:
- Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods

-Education and Experience:
- Applicants that have completed or are in the process of
obtaining a degree in Communications, Human Resources, Graphic
Design and related areas, preferred
- The selected candidate should have a strong visual style with
experience in video editing, motion graphics, video format
standards and basic live production
- The ideal candidate will also have experience capturing
compelling video footage and editing it into exciting promotional
videos
- Candidates must have the ability to work independently and
within a team environment to edit gameplay sequences and trailers,
to design original broadcast graphics, and produce marketing videos
