We work with the best customers on-site at top government agencies.Job Title: Senior Systems EngineerPosition Title and WBS Number: Senior Systems Engineer/JD#154006Primary Location: Quantico, VAJob Description:The Senior Systems Engineer (SSE) shall plan, lead and, if necessary, conduct site-surveys and use the information acquired to produce a complete delineation of products and services, support equipment, computer, and electronic equipment installations required for the site to fully support mission operations.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shall prepares and conduct special reports and presentations that contain actionable information, which is pertinent to individual site operations.
  • Shall coordinate with other field engineers. T
  • Shall plan, direct, and, if necessary, conduct regular, special, and integrated system test programs on virtualization equipment.
  • Shall plan, prepare and conduct on the job training to FBI and junior personnel, as required.
  • Shall conduct integrated equipment system test.
  • Shall support the unit with other duties as assigned within the scope of work.
  • Provide escalation level technical support to field personnel
  • Develop, integrate, document, validate, deploy and support equipment and technologies
  • Systems Equipment Installation and Implementation. Install, configure, implement, and validate installation of components to systems. Components include but are not limited to:
    • Microsoft (current Version) Storage Spaces Direct (S2D), Failover Clustering & Hyper-V manager.
    • Mass storage arrays
    • Servers
    • Network switches, routers, and firewalls
    • Hypervisors and virtualization sub-systems
    • A variety of workstations, including physical and virtual end-user workstations and connected kiosks
    • Network cabling, termination, power specifications, UPS configuration, and installation
    • Engineering level knowledge of Microsoft System Center products. Currently in use but not limited to the following:
    • Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) current Version
    • Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) current version
    • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) current version
    • Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM) current version
    • Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) current version
      • Microsoft SQL Server current version
      • Strong customer service skills and able to articulate the regional problems and resolution to-management
      • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders in the design and development of solutions.
      • Author and utilize scripting languages, mainly but not limited to PowerShell, to automate tedious, repetitive, and/or error prone tasks related to installation, configuration, and management of IT systems and services
      • Administer a variety of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and other IT services, such as storage appliances, file servers, web servers, and virtualization platforms.
      • Prototype new solutions to IT challenges and optimize existing systems in light of new technologies
      • Perform duties independently, without direct supervision, and without detailed guidance from superiors.
      • Resolve operational technical challenges and articulate ideas- concepts, and requirements to management
      • Provide ad-hoc network, system, and workstation support. Provide technical assistance to facilities that require ingenuity and technical reasoning
      • Contribute to the national program by evaluating effectiveness of existing technologies on site, and considering emerging technologies
      • Liaison between field support and management
      • Participate in the Change Control process meetings, providing direct and candid feedback regarding ideas for proposed changes to systems
      • Explore emerging technology through independent research
      • Perform administration and maintenance of hardware and software systems utilized throughout the program.
      • The Senior Systems Engineers are expected to be able to properly setup, from the box, new components without direct assistance
      • Provide direct assistance to the remote systems administrators with escalation level tasks
      • Document, test, and deploy modernization technologies to existing production environments
      • Review the technical merit of the concepts and learn the technology
      • Evaluate, prototype, and deploy new technology
      • The Senior Systems Engineers must be able to accomplish all levels of systems administration responsibilities from configuring newly deployed equipment to providing required technical support to all users across the enterprise.
      • The Senior Systems Engineers must be able to deliver these services independently, without direct supervision
      • Author technical documentation of components and configurations of environments
      • Draft, review, and finalize procedures, security documentation, and general usage instructions for systems and components
      • Install, configure, implement, and validate cloud (examples: Azure, AWS) and on premise cloud (examples: Azure, AWS, OpenStack) infrastructure systems
      • Install, configure, implement, and validate Microsoft (current Version) Skype for Business, DHCP, and DNS ServerQualifications:
        • Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain CI Poly
