work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times
in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects
have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large
populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact
to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a
Director, Workday ERP and Financial Systems. The Director, Workday
ERP and Financial Systems is responsible for leading technical side
of IJM's finance systems initiatives, including those related to
Workday, Adaptive Planning, QuickBooks, M-files, SmartSheet and
other relevant systems. The role will lead the design and
implementation of these systems working closely with functional
SMEs and HR and IT technical support. This role will be part of the
Finance Systems team, will work with the Enablement Manager and
other Financial System members and will report to the Vice
President, Treasury and Finance Systems. This role is responsible
for managing the Finance components of the Workday system. The
successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of Workday,
including being WorkdayPro certified on the Finance side of the
system. This work involves implementing functionality to support
the IJM Finance function and troubleshooting and resolving complex
support issues. This work will be completed within the ecosystem of
Workday which includes the Workday HCM team and the Workday
Platform team, requiring close collaboration with those teams. This
position is remote for non-local candidates OR hybrid (onsite
Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area. It
reports to the Vice President , Treasury and Finance Systems and is
only available for candidates with the right to work in the US .
Responsibi lities Networking & Partnership: Develop networks with
other customers within relevant communities to leverage best
practices for IJM. Direct the work of external consultants as
needed. Partner with Finance, HR teams and GTS to define and refine
requirements for new features and enhancements. Partner with
project leaders in the business to effectively plan and execute
projects from discovery through post-go-live phases. Complex
Projects: Working with a user base distributed across the Globe,
support requirements gathering, technical documentation, execution
of technical work, and vendor estimates. Plan technical timelines
and scopes of large projects. Lead execution of successful testing
and ensure business sponsor sign-off on requirements and testing.
Handles complex Workday tickets and supports IT analyst with
regular tickets Communication : Collaborating with the Enablement
Manager, create project-specific communications as needed Handle
critical issue escalation and management. Direct release
communications to core team members and stakeholders. Advise and
partner with business partners for training and communications to
end users on new features, upgrades, and enhancements. Training and
Development: Be a coach and mentor to other team members Onboard
and coordinate continuous training of super users and other users.
Support the production of training materials for the entire user
base Continuously learn to ensure Workday skills remain current and
support the up-skilling of all team members Software Development
Life Cycle (SLDC): Deliver software solutions following
industry-standard SDLC: gather requirements, system configuration,
test and UAT, deployment, and support. Support thorough
requirements gathering. Oversee and ensure testing of all
requirements and scenarios. Understand and deploy Agile methods
when appropriate . Please note the internal title of this role will
be Director, Financial Systems Key Result Areas: Portfolio
Management: Develop and manage IJM's finance systems portfolio,
including Workday, Adaptive Planning, QuickBooks, M-files,
Smartsheet, and treasury/banking tools. Strategic Planning and
Implementation: Develop and implement an IJM finance systems
strategy, including KPIs and a multi-year roadmap/budget. Co-create
efficient and effective technology-enabled solutions with
functional SMEs and GTS technical support. Project Leadership: Lead
larger system change projects, annual initiatives, and bi-annual
releases, with an advanced focus on the user experience and change
management. Facilitate and manage requirements gathering,
backlog/request management, and sprint planning. Team Leadership
and Collaboration: Supervise a team of two. Partner with business
functional leads to prioritize, plan, and execute projects. Serve
as a liaison between business and technical teams. Work closely
with HR and GTS partners to advance Workday to serve our business
objectives. Process Improvement and Innovation: Engage with
business partners and power users to gather, write, and qualify
requirements. Create clear requirements documentation for user
acceptance, cross-functional roles, and guidance for external
consultants. Use best practice change management to drive
implementation success. Continue post implementation monitoring and
training as needed. Qualifications: Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business , FIN, Information Systems, Computer
Science, related field or any equivalent combination of education,
experience, and certification; 10 years’ professional work
experience including 3 years of people management experience; 5
years of Finance systems experience, including new module
implementation, project management, issue management,
communication, and change management (Prior experience with global
system support and deployment a plus); 3 years’ Workday Financials
configuration and requirements gathering experience strongly
preferred Workday ProCertified - or willingness to obtain
certification required Technical Competencies: Experience leading
technical projects Experience writing UAT criteria or scripts for
technical system requirements High proficiency in Excel or other
data analysis tools preferred Experience with Workday Non-Technical
