– Contract Location: 100% Remote (U.S.) Duration: 6-Month Contract
(high likelihood of extension) Client: TEGNA Start: ASAP About the
Role As a FireTV Developer, you will play a key role in developing
and scaling Fire TV applications using React Native , helping
deliver personalized, high-performance streaming experiences
designed to engage Gen Z and Millennial audiences. This role sits
within a newly formed CTV engineering team focused on innovation,
performance, and rapid iteration across Roku, Fire TV, and
Web-based TV platforms. Responsibilities Design, develop, and
maintain Fire TV applications using React Native in a production
environment Collaborate with backend, web, mobile, product, and
design teams to deliver new features and platform enhancements
Implement TV-specific UX patterns, including remote navigation,
focus management, and performance optimization Support integration
of video playback, analytics, ads, and personalized content
experiences Contribute to shared CTV architecture and reusable
components across platforms Participate in Agile ceremonies, daily
standups, and code reviews Help scale and stabilize a high-traffic
consumer streaming application used across multiple markets
Required Qualifications Strong experience developing Fire TV
applications using React Native Hands-on experience shipping React
Native applications to production Solid understanding of TV app UX
, including remote control navigation and focus handling Strong
JavaScript / TypeScript fundamentals Experience collaborating in
cross-functional, Agile engineering teams Comfortable working
independently in a remote, fast-paced environment Nice-to-Have
Experience Experience with other CTV platforms: Roku (BrightScript
/ SceneGraph) Fire TV (Kotlin / Android TV) Web-based CTV platforms
(Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Vizio) Video streaming technologies (HLS,
DRM, analytics, ad frameworks) Prior work on large-scale consumer
or media streaming applications Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
for mobile or TV platforms
