infrastructure, systems engineering, business intelligence, and
data science services for federal, state and local organizations.
We are seeking a Systems Administrator Ill to support an on prem
and cloud-based storage solution for the National Institutes of
Health (NIH) on an IT Support Services contract. The Systems
Administrator monitors and maintains systems health, executes on
upgrade, configuration, and patching requirements, and serves as a
resource for the NIDCD service desk and computer user community.
Job Requirements: Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must be able to obtain a US Public Trust Clearance Provides cloud,
server, storage, backup and database systems administration for the
Infrastructure environment in multiple onsite and virtual locations
Provides backup/restoration services Complete monthly patching and
restores Ensures all hardware/software is kept up to date IAW NIH
policies and procedures, and all hardware and applications are
configured IAW HHS, NIH, and NIDCD security regulations and
standards Plans and monitors the optimizing of system operation and
resource utilization and performs systems capacity analysis and
planning Ensures 99.6% or higher system uptime Coordinates
communications channels during major incidents and record problem
investigations in the NIH My IT Service Management System, JIRA, or
designated system in a timely fashion Create and maintain Azure
environments Cross-trains with Scientific Systems Administrator to
provide continuous and reliable backup of service Provides support
for Windows and Linux server environments Responsible for security
management of environments Responsible for scientific instrument
data and compatibility with data storage systems Responsible for
short term and long term data storage needs Update and create
documentation on a regular basis Works alongside scientists and
researchers daily Work onsite 3 days a week at minimum Education
and Experience: Must be able to obtain a US Public Trust clearance
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related
field 10 years of IT experience involving customer support Drive
and eagerness to learn new technologies and processes as well as
ensure completeness 4 years of working experience administering MS
Azure instances (creating servers, deploying, maintaining, moving
data, etc) Working knowledge of SCCM and MECM desired Experience
using and operating Dell/EMC solutions or equivalent technologies
necessary Experience working with NetApp Storage solutions desired
Experience using and setting up VMware solutions necessary Ability
to install, move, cable physical hardware required Prior Backup
solution experience required Prior experience working in a medical
or scientific/research -based environment a plus Powershell
scripting desired (creating and executing scripts) Solid customer
service and communication skills are critical as well as the
ability and willingness to communicate effectively and
appropriately in an empathetic and understanding manner High
attention to detail Superb documentation skills Self-motivated to
continuously grow skillset and stay at the forefront of technology
evolution
