Job Description:
Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Senior Embedded Software
Design Lead to join our innovative Engineering & Design team. As a
global leader in smart building technologies, we are dedicated to
enhancing building efficiency, sustainability, and security through
cutting-edge solutions. In this role, you will lead the development
of embedded software for our advanced systems, ensuring both high
performance and alignment with our strategic objectives on
innovation and customer satisfaction. Lead a team of embedded
software engineers in the design, development, and implementation
of software for embedded systems Collaborate with cross-functional
teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to define
product requirements and design specifications Ensure adherence to
software development best practices and maintainability of code
Drive the architecture and design decisions necessary to ensure the
successful implementation of embedded solutions Oversee the testing
and debugging of new software and systems Mentor and develop team
members, providing guidance and support for their professional
growth Stay abreast of industry trends and technological
advancements, integrating new technologies as applicable to enhance
product offerings Expertise in C/C++ programming for embedded
systems Familiarity with microcontroller architectures and various
communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART) Proficient in
real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux Strong
understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies
Experience with version control systems, such as Git Ability to
troubleshoot and optimize embedded systems Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills Excellent leadership and communication
abilities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life
Insurance 401k Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Certifications in Agile development methodologies Any
certifications related to embedded systems or software
development
