Job Description:

Red Hat Linux Systems Administrator Responsibilities:
•Linux Systems Administration, including capacity planning, systems installation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting
•Linux System Administration, including capacity planning, systems installation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting
•Planning, installation, and management of third party software
•Server Storage management
•Server Backup and Restore management
•Server and O/S Security and Network management
•Daily Monitoring of systems
•Analysis of the Logs including unusual activities/errors/warnings.
•Performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning capability
•Production job monitoring for errors
•Server and O/S Patch management
•Application Support Package management as agreed by the business stakeholders
•System Cloning, System Copy, and Data Refresh as agreed to by the business stakeholders
•Troubleshooting analysis of application problems within the Functional and Development streams
•Database monitoring for usage, capacity, and performance
•Serve as liaison to Hardware and Software vendors
•Maintain current and accurate SOP documentation of systems configuration and operational processes
•Follow ITIL processes for incident management, change management, and problem management
•Compliance with ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 standard processes
 
Required Skills/Certifications
•7 + years of experience as a Linux Administrator for ERP applications such as SAP Production systems with Oracle database
• Linux system administration certification is prefered
•Require UNIX shell scripting experience
•Basic Database administration experience is required
•Good understanding of Linux Operating systems  
•Good understanding of UNIX HA and DR architecture
•Good understanding of IBM p-Series including p6 and p7 servers, LPAR configuration and management
•Good understanding of IBM PowerVM virtualization, HMC, and VIO server management
•AIX System Security including wrappers, SSH, sudo, logging, auditing, and intrusion analysis
