Dogwood Management Partners, an SDVOSB with extensive experience working with the federal government, is seeking an AIX Systems Administrator for a mission critical opening we have under a prominent government contract located in Dahlgren, VA. This is a full-time and permanent opportunity offering an excellent salary plus benefits, to the selected individual.
Work must be performed onsite and all necessary COVID-19 precautions are in place to help and ensure the safety of all personnel. For consideration, candidates must have the ability to be onsite at work M - F, 6:30am to 3pm EST. The selected candidate will have access to IBM's Network Installation Manager, which contains AIX Installation images, IBM Licensed Scripts, and AIX Customized Scripts. This agency program utilizes AIX as the computer operational system and in almost all instances; the operating system must be customized to accommodate all sustainment and modernization version releases. The ability to customize and adapt the update for the operational system is critical to enhancing the capability of the mission and the agency overall. The MPS and all supporting software and hardware are a one of a kind-system, absent of any duplication across the DoD The selected candidate will provide technical support to the Automated Data Processing Operations expected to consist of the monitoring of mission systems operations; analysis of problems with the operational mission system; and resolution of operations problems. Shall also attend reviews, status and related meetings with the customer to determine problem resolution plan, tasking, and managerial procedures. Provide technical support and clarification of technical issues related to assigned tasks. In addition, the selected candidate will provide technical support to the project architecture. This consists of providing technical assistance in the understanding, design, and testing of IBM related hardware and configuration items. Candidate Requirements:

• CompTIA Security+ certification, or comparable IAT Level II certification
• DoD Top Secret Clearance
• Clearable to receive SCI access
• Recent Experience in AIX System Administration Version 7
• Preferred experience around Red Hat, Virtualization, and/or IBM Power9 Servers
• Ability to be on-site in Dahlgren, VA in a classified environment (remote support will not be acceptable), Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm Position Responsibilities:
  • Analyze Mission Processing System performance to locate deficiencies in operation and performance of the current system
  • Analyze operational requirement specifications for impacts to current network performance
  • Perform technical analysis and provide information to support L3Harris' development of specifications of modifications or enhancements that incorporate new capabilities or correct deficiencies
  • Provide information to L3Harris that supports its development of specifications for regular technology upgrades to maintain system performance and supportability by the commercial vendors of the equipment
  • Support the development and maintenance of network diagrams and documentation.
  • Comply with project processes in the execution of system engineering activities for each assigned project, as defined in the subcontract
  • Determine and document functional and operational issues with MPS software using the project's Manage Product Deficiencies IOP
  • Produce associated Deficiency Reports (DRs) and Standard Change Forms (SCFs) for future resolution using the appropriate project processes
  • Develop the design for system modifications through the evaluation of MPS DRs and SCFs
  • Provide feedback to the customer, as needed, enhancing awareness on issues related to problem determination and system impact
  • Participate in internal peer reviews on source code modules and documentation
  • Revise reviewed procedures as requested by the Program PM
  • Support Engineering Review Boards (ERB), Preliminary/Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDRs) and other review or walkthroughs associated with the design or development of the MPS applications at the direction of the Program PM
  • Develop associated support documentation relating to tasks performed by subcontractor personnel. This includes, but is not limited to, Coding Languages Standards, Review Procedures, and Standards of Operation
  • Develop, review and update technical documentation associated with the assigned life cycle phases of the MPS software development activities
  • Develop and provide maintenance procedures for all activities required to sustain the system All responses will be held in confidence.
