System Administrator

Location: Alexandria, VA

Full-time

Salary: 90-100K

Small environment with around 100 users, and we need someone who can wear multiple hats (systems, network, user support, etc)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor?s degree in computer or information science, or equivalent combination of work experience and/or professional certifications; experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of LAN, WAN; experience managing Windows and Macintosh (Mac is preferred, since they do have a few MAC workstations) operating systems; experience managing desktops, and associated software in a networked environment; experience configuring and managing Active Directory, domain controllers, DFS, Group Policy and login scripts; experience initiating countermeasures for dealing with network security and virus protection; configuring & managing switches; experience with managing network storage devices; configuring firewalls and VPN; demonstrated ability to administer a 100 + node network.

Experience with VMware VSphere, Windows Server 2012

Certifications and/or Licenses preferred/required:

MCSE, CCT, CCNA, and/or CCNP (some combination of these)

? Design, install, implement and maintain virtual & physical infrastructure, network and operating systems.

? Design effective and efficient architectures for networks and systems

? Maintain backups of systems and their data; assist with disaster recovery planning.

? Plan and deploy timely software and hardware upgrades.

? Assist in the preparation of the budget and make recommendations regarding hardware, software and other computer equipment.

? Plan, configure and troubleshoot networked devices including storage area networks, network attached storage, SSL appliances, firewalls, printers, ESX servers, desktop computers, switches, hubs and routers. Troubleshoot and correct network related issues. Keep systems patched, updated and secure.

? Monitor overall network performance. Takes appropriate action to tune network devices for optimal performance.

? Administer local and remote user access to network resources

Administer electronic mail systems.

? Maintain the network firewall and ensure the highest levels of network security including antivirus and anti SPAM countermeasures.

? Schedule and ensure that system backups are performed verified and transported offsite.

? Maintain hardware inventory, including the storage or disposal of surplus hardware.

? Identify and resolve hardware and software problems.

? Add and maintain users on the network; assign application access, ensure security and ensure their configurations are within standards.

o Windows server: 2003, 2008, 2012

o Windows desktop: XP, win7, win8

o Experience updating & managing Active Directory

o Experience managing user/service accounts, security groups in Active Directory

o Experience managing mailing lists, email aliases.

? Project: Workstation/laptop setup, imaging & deployment for entire company

o Experience writing login scripts

o Create Group Policy for logins, security, updates

o Experience with printer server & mapping printers.

o System imaging, use of sysprep for computer deployment

? Project: Data protection

o Update current backup solution
