GROUP W IS HIRINGPosition: Human Resources GeneralistLocation: Dumfries, VAOverview: Seeking a dynamic and compassionate, yet firm Human Resources professional who has experience with benefits administration, talent acquisition, compensation, reporting, and training. The HR Generalist will report to the Director of Human Resources and should have the ability and agility to balance the needs of 115 employee-owners within a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. This role is ideal for a process-oriented individual who embraces technology and is able to manage a high volume of requests and projects without sacrificing quality.The HR Generalist will need to understand and embrace Group W's unique culture characterized by an egalitarian mindset, a quest for exceptional performance, a distaste for bureaucracy, and disdain for stupidity. Group W strives for world-class infrastructure support and is a growing, profitable, high-retention, successful and high-performing national security corporation.Requirements: Bachelor's / four-year degree in Human Resources or related field3 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in government contractingStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workersNote: "Group W maintains a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy as a term and condition of employment. Under the Policy, all employees must prove that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before their first day of work with the Company unless a medical or religious exemption is approved."Preferred: Fundamental knowledge of HR principles, procedures, and practices including wage and salary administration, benefits program administration, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and regulatory complianceEffective and persuasive communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, deal with ambiguity, and prioritize and execute multiple ongoing tasksAbility to work across all levels of the organizationAbility to synthesize and analyze data and informationAn innovative and strategic mindset open to new ideasA commitment to technology and its use to streamline tasks and expand capabilitiesStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilityAbility to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretionExperience with supporting geographically distant employeesPrior HR experience within a small businessCommitment to preserving Group W's unique, treasured culture amid the dynamics of managing, and potentially scaling growthDuties/Responsibilities:Assist with creating and distributing internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, compliance, new regulation, and company policiesCoordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programsRespond to human resources-related inquiries and coordinate with the appropriate internal and external entitiesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirementsAssist with talent acquisition process to include posting positions, scheduling interviews, participating in job fairs, maintaining, and updating the applicant tracking system, drafting offer letters, etc.Coordinate and administer new employee onboarding and orientationMaintain employee information in the HRISCoordinate offboarding, conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action based on feedbackProvide audit support as neededUpdate job requirements and descriptionsReconcile benefits invoicesServe as a member of our corporate events and swag committeesEnrich professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, establishing networks, and participating in professional groupsOther duties as assignedAbout Group W:Group W is a 100% employee-owned company that hires great people to provide analysis, modeling, simulation, wargaming, and research, for visionary clients in government, commercial, and non-governmental entities.
