Description The Food Services Worker plays a key role in supporting
patient care by preparing, assembling, and delivering high?quality
meals that meet both patient selections and clinical dietary
requirements. This position works in a fast?paced, refrigerated
environment and ensures accuracy, timeliness, and exceptional
service for every patient. Primary Responsibilities Tray Assembly &
Meal Service Assemble patient meal trays for lunch and dinner
according to individual diet orders and menu selections. Set up
tray?line stations for breakfast service and assist with breakfast
tray assembly. Deliver meal trays and snacks to assigned patient
units, replacing missing items and offering appropriate
alternatives based on diet guidelines. Notify nursing staff of
refused trays, missing trays, or patients who are not in their
rooms. Document food and liquid intake for designated patients.
Tray Retrieval & Sanitation Retrieve meal trays from patient rooms
and unit kitchens, ensuring no personal items are removed with the
trays. Strip and clean food carts, sort and rinse dishes and
silverware, and assist with washing breakfast service items.
Patient Menu Support Deliver menus to patients, explain daily menu
options, and assist in making meal selections. Ensure condiments
and special requests are accurately recorded. Coordinate with the
Hospitality Service Office to obtain information on new admissions
or diet changes, delivering updated menus and diet awareness cards
as needed. Special Meal Processing Prepare NOW trays/meals,
isolation trays, guest trays, and discharged trays with required
nursing sign?off. Stock and inventory hospitality carts/baskets,
and deliver bulk nourishments to patient units. Clerical &
Administrative Support Provide support to the Hospitality Service
Office by answering phones and following up on service requests.
Produce standard reports, enter patient meal selections, and manage
special food preferences for therapeutic diets. Participate in
departmental in?service training sessions. Essential Skills
Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and volume cooking. Strong
customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
Understanding of recipes, portioning, measuring, and basic kitchen
techniques. Experience working in food service environments,
including tray?line or line cooking operations. Additional
Qualifications Previous experience in a food?service or hospitality
setting. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and provide

Shift: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM Schedule: Released every two weeks

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 -
$18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may
depend on your job classification and length of employment.
