Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization
in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated
Dietitian Educator to join our team. This role focuses on improving
patient outcomes through effective dietary education and
personalized nutrition plans. Our Dietitian Educator will work
closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and
implement nutritional strategies that enhance patient care and
promote healthier lifestyle choices across our diverse patient
population. Conduct nutritional assessments and create
individualized dietary plans for patients. Educate patients and
their families on proper nutritional habits and healthy lifestyle
changes. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to
integrate nutritional strategies into overall patient care plans.
Lead community outreach programs on nutrition and wellness. Stay
updated on the latest nutritional science research and incorporate
relevant findings into practice. Participate in the training and
supervision of dietary interns and other staff members. Monitor and
document patient progress, adjusting dietary plans and education as
needed. Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and dietary
guidelines. Excellent communication and educational skills. Ability
to assess patient nutritional needs and develop effective plans.
Experience with nutritional software and patient documentation
systems. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary
team environment. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Life Insurance 401k Registered Dietitian (RD) or
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certified by the Commission
on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Licensed Dietitian in the state of
Virginia or ability to obtain prior to hire.
