ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Alexandria, Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/05/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - PCU Float Pool Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Float to all PCU/Telemetry units within the hospital as needed • May work on different units every shift to meet hospital needs • Patient ratios: PCU 1:4 (may go to 1:5), Medical/Surgical 1:5 (rarely 1:6) • Required to titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin • Must be proficient with neurological assessments and basic cardiac drips • Read and interpret EKG strips and pass ECG examination • Work with equipment including CPAP, high flow oxygen, and cardiac monitoring • Care for patients with stroke, chest pain, arrhythmias, post-surgical conditions, sepsis, and respiratory failure • Every other weekend requirement with minimum of 4 weekend shifts in 6-week period • Holiday expectation: 1 major and 1 minor holiday • Navy scrubs required • 3 shifts of orientation on 3 different units plus general facility orientation • Required certifications: BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS • 1-2 years experience required with EPIC system experience • Prior travel experience required • Opportunity for overtime available Facility: This healthcare facility features a comprehensive progressive care unit with 52-bed neuro unit and 52-bed medical surgical unit.
