Position Summary:
SIR Foundation is hiring a coordinator to support the Clinical Research and Grants team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of Interventional Radiology research by working closely with SIR staff and physician members. -- -This position is responsible for taking the lead in coordinating several expert panel meetings, assisting in the organization of IR-based summer internship programs, and working with SIR-- - -s Communications and Social Media Manager to update and manage the foundation-- - -s social media content and printed materials. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail and a desire to launch their career and support groundbreaking research that will advance scientific knowledge in the field of Interventional Radiology.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Support expert panel meetings

  • Organize conference calls, draft agendas, take minutes as needed
  • Inform panelists about expert panel process, send materials, answer questions
  • Assist with meeting logistics for up to four expert panel meetings annually
  • Communicate regularly with panelists to acquire materials by deadlines-- -
  • Follow up with panelists after the meeting for publication edits

    Provide support for the SIR Foundation Grants Programs-- -

    • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the various SIR Foundation Grants Programs
    • Review applications for various grant programs for completeness and eligibility, and advise applicants as needed during submission
    • Take primary responsibility for the regular contact required with the interns during the summer medical student internship program
    • Draft and prepare award and decline letters for various programs and track all applications through the process to ensure completeness and accuracy.-- -

      Coordinate communications-- -

      • Identify different communications outlets and their deadlines to promote grant opportunities and research stories that demonstrate the SIR Foundation-- - -s impact-- -
      • Ensure information on the SIR Foundation Grants and Awards Program are current and advertised, encouraging applications
      • Keep the webpage updated and accurate with information on research trials and registries-- -
      • Track all communications pieces for the Foundation: know upcoming publication deadlines for print and seek appropriate content from others to submit by deadlines, coordinate social media content by their deadlines

        Secondary Functions and Responsibilities

        • Coordinate and liaise with other departments and organizations as needed to fulfill duties
        • Some travel (approximately 5%) is required
        • One-week domestic travel may be required to attend the annual meeting, some local travel required to attend expert panel meetings and board meetings-- -
        • Support the Manager of Clinical Research and Grants as needed
        • Perform other duties as assigned
