Job Description:
World Central Kitchen, Inc. (WCK) seeks a talented and committed
Director, People and Culture to provide leadership for our entire
global team including employees, independent contractors, and
volunteers. Part of a growing HR team, the successful candidate
must be a true expert in people relations and culture building
management, experienced in implementing strategic plans that build
proactive, anticipatory/reactive relations strategies, solutions,
and guidelines that ensure the people experience and leadership
effectiveness are at its peak. -This new role will report to the
Chief People Officer (CPO) and work in concert with the HR team and
senior leaders across our growing global organization. This role
requires a sincere commitment to WCK's mission, with some travel,
including internationally, and the expertise and empathy to provide
effective leadership while promoting and enabling a fair and
inclusive workplace. -This position is intended to be a full-time
hybrid position based in Washington DC requiring 2-3 days per week
onsite.Key Duties & Responsibilities: -
- Provide expert-level guidance, advice, and support to HR
colleagues, executives, and people managers across WCK on a wide
variety of people relations issues, policies, procedures, and
workplace investigations to create and sustain a positive People
experience. -
- Effectively engage as a trusted adviser with all levels of
leadership in providing continuous training and development
regarding how to properly navigate managing staff behavior both
proactively and remedially.
- Cultivate a strong rapport across WCK that is based on a high
level of collaboration, trust, and inclusion to ensure concerns and
disputes are raised promptly and addressed fairly.
- Ensure compliance with WCK policies and practices by accurately
and rapidly responding to inquiries regarding policy and procedure
interpretation and providing guidance to staff and their leaders. -

- Survey and analyze key culture building opportunities and lead
programs to build and align WCK's culture appropriately across
diverse teams distributed over multiple time zones.
- Assess, develop, implement, and facilitate DEI initiatives and
goals -
- Establish, implement, and manage an effective and equitable
progressive discipline process
- Effectively manage and resolve individual cases while
maintaining a clear strategic view of wider issues or patterns and
effective responses
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of cases,
communications, and related systems and tools - -
- Design the effective collection and analysis of exit interview
data, conducting exit interviews and follow up communications as
needed -
- Collaborate to proactively assist with reasonable
accommodations related processes, requests, and case
management
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
- 8-10 years of people relations experience, including
investigations and training at a senior level in large, complex
multinational organizations
- Exceptional relationship-building skills to effectively
pre-empt, understand, and respond to global employee relations
needs
- Proven track record in effectively building and growing culture
building programs at scale
- Proven track record in designing and delivering successful
employee relations training interventions
- Experience supporting direct employees, Employer of Record
employees, independent contractors, and volunteers
- Experience managing large-scale change projects
- Experience using case management and employee reporting
systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of US and international employment law -

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail -
- Must be able to deploy occasionally including
internationally
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without visa
