Job Description:
Position Overview The chamber of commerce profession has
undergone a renaissance due to the efforts of chambers during the
global pandemic and economic recovery. As a result, ACCE
(Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives) has experienced
strong financial positioning and healthy member satisfaction
ratings. Our current strategic plan creates a long-term sustainable
business model for the association, leveraging modern tactics and
technology to promote the industry and expand membership by
championing access, inclusivity, and diversity. With this
foundation in place, we are seeking a dynamic membership executive
to develop and execute a strategic membership recruitment and
retention plan in support of the organization's growth. Position
includes approximately 10-20% travel. Do you enjoy working with a

targets? ACCE's Director, Membership will manage the entire
membership lifecycle from recruitment and application, to
on-boarding, and touchpoint communications, to retention, and is
also responsible for ongoing member care and relations. The ideal
candidate will be self-motivated and tech savvy. A team player with
a passion for leveraging resources and technology to support
membership goals and objectives. Primary Responsibilities
- Craft strategy for, and lead the association's membership
recruitment and retention process, serving as the primary point of
contact for membership inquiries (phone, email, mail, in-person)
and delivery of member support services
- Conduct daily sales activity to achieve the association's
overall membership revenue goals and support the organization's
annual operating budget
- Gain deep knowledge of ACCE value proposition, programs,
resources, benefits, and peer divisions to employ a consultative
sales approach to securing new and prospective members
- Create and implement a comprehensive membership sales strategy
plan that prioritizes member acquisition, retention, and engagement
to deliver on key revenue targets
- Keep up to date with industry trends and membership best
practices, serving as the membership thought leader on staff and
within the chamber industry
- Oversee outbound communications process for notifying and
processing membership renewals in support of a 90% annual retention
rate
- Utilize LinkedIn, Facebook, Google alerts and other social
media to identify and reach out to prospective members
- Analyze data to measure the success of membership growth
efforts and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
- Oversee membership data in our database (Fonteva, a
Salesforce-based AMS) including but not limited to : accurate
membership and prospect records, membership revenue reporting
(actual) and deferred annual reporting, renewal and retention
- Build on and maintain a robust current prospective member
recruitment list
- Serve as a collection agent on past due accounts, as
needed
- Organize and staff the ACCE booth at conferences and annual
convention; travel as needed
- Maintain positive relationships with staff, members,
prospective members, sponsors, partners, and other organizations to
ensure the highest quality of service and the positive image of the
association
- Support special projects or provide input to other departments
as needed Qualifications and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of five years membership management experience in a
non-profit organization or association
- Superior communication skills, specifically speaking/writing
clearly and persuasively as well as listening attentively
- Strong CRM/AMS database experience required; knowledge of
Salesforce an advantage
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite: Teams,
Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work independently to meet monthly and annual
revenue goals
- Effective at making engaging presentations in-person and
virtually
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively on a remote
team
- Exceptional customer service; commitment to delivering member
satisfaction
- Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills;
solution-oriented, proactive, and highly responsive
- Ability to self-direct and multi-task, prioritize, manage time
effectively, and move seamlessly between a variety of projects
- Willingness to adapt to change and commitment to constant
improvement
