Position Description: This is a full-time exempt position directly involved in the day-to-day operations of the development team, providing on-site front-end support and customization/ development of new and existing SharePoint solutions, for multiple technical projects in support of a DoD customer, located in the Pentagon. The candidate will ensure all tasks assigned (work orders, projects, and incidents) follow industry best practices and applicable laws, policies, governance, and procedures. This position serves as the technical lead for complex projects, coordinates issues, and mitigates back-end concerns that affect the availability or limit the functionality of the portal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Provide project, technical support, and implementation support (in collaboration with the service provider) for migration to new platforms such as the latest version of SharePoint, SharePoint Online (SPO), etc.
  • Develop and integrate/connect SharePoint solutions (tools, dashboards, workflows, forms, and automation) in Microsoft O365 Power Platform tools and applications, e.g., Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents
  • Design and develop dashboards that provide customer-requested depictions of static and real-time data and information in visualizations that support quick decision support by various leaders
  • Support SharePoint Administration (design, oversee the development of, and/or administer content framework within the SharePoint platform
  • Customize out-of-the-box Power Platform applications or develop new Power Platform applications to meet customer requirements
  • Communicate and coordinate with knowledge management project leads and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements
  • Report and track issues related to platform access/performance, migrations, upgrades, and other issues under the service provider(s) purview for resolution when notified or made aware and within specified time requirements
  • Provide quality assurance; test and validate requirements and products with end users, delivering designs and processes from conception to implementation
  • Automate manual processes into Microsoft O365/SP workflow tools to enhance processes and allow for automation, enhanced tracking, and notification
  • Gather requirements and integrate database or technological solutions with internal and external agencies using front-end web development and integration tools
  • Identify other non-portal solutions/alternatives that may meet customer requirements and make recommendations to the project lead
  • Provide front-end development using web languages like HTML, Bootstrap, JavaScript, CSS, XSLT, XML jQuery, and Rest API.
  • Support Help Desk Tickets/incidents/work orders requiring more time and a higher level of support
  • Ensure compliance with service providers, portal governance as well as associated DoD policies and procedures
  • Advise on the selection of technologies, architectures, software design, and system support for products within the organization.
  • Develop user and administration guides for any custom-developed applications
  • Develop, facilitate, and lead training on basic and advanced SharePoint and DoD 365 topics to include training on custom solutions in desk-side to small group training sessions (in-person and virtually).
  • Provide Weekly Status Reports on SharePoint tasks and activities
  • Attend meetings and brief leadership on progress
  • Complete all required training, safeguard government information and property, and comply with all applicable security and information handling policies and directives
  • Provide technical writing and documentation support Required Skills and Experience:
    • Must have and maintain an active DoD Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
    • CompTIA Security+ Certification
    • 5+ years of task-related experience, dedicated as a SharePoint Developer, administering, and migrating SharePoint features and solutions.
    • Extensive working knowledge and experience with front-end support for SharePoint environments and the interoperability of SharePoint 2013, 2019, SPO/Microsoft O365 with other Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, etc.)
    • Re-write and re-engineer custom legacy SharePoint 2013 and 2019 applications and workflows to Power Platform solutions, integrating modernizations that increase functionality and streamline the process and user interface as technically required and/or at the request of the customer
      • Must be able to develop knowledge management tools and applications using out-of-the-box functionality and tools while supporting new tools available in the Power Platform suite of tools and applications
        • Working knowledge of database technologies including Microsoft SQL Server and the ability to integrate into the SharePoint and Power Platform environment; connect, configure, and integrate data through the available Power Platform connectors
        • Knowledge of advanced features of SharePoint 2013, 2019, SPO, and MS Power Platform and the back-end functionality for troubleshooting and coordination with the service provider
        • Working knowledge of InfoPath, SharePoint Designer, and SharePoint workflows, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, React Angular/AngularJS, RESTful services, JSOM, SPFx, CAML Query for SharePoint and PowerShell to configure, create solutions and further enhance the look and feel, to include, boost functionality within SharePoint when using these methods.
        • Must be highly organized and have excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), along with the ability to interpret client requirements into usable customer solutions
        • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
        • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment
        • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
        • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
        • Must exhibit an independent interest in the use of new technologies, tools, and professional development. Required Education:
          • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university Working Conditions:
