Job Description:
Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS) is seeking a
Treasury Clerk for our Alexandria, VA office.Come join a thriving

The Treasury Clerk will assist in managing day-to-day activities in
treasury functions to meet the financial obligations of the
organization. ng policies and procedures as it relates to VOANS
Housing and subsidiaries. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or finance.
- At least two (2) years work experience in accounting
field.
- Affordable housing, HUD and LIHTC experience preferred.
- Strong oral and written skills.
- Able to maintain positive attitude and approach towards
assignments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word,
Excel, and Access.
- Experience using accounting system databases, ideally with
Great Plains.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple,
competing deadlines.
- Detail oriented, deadline driven, resourceful and
proactive.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours. Ability to travel is
required.
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for
tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: --- Serve as key liaison for all matters
related to cash disbursements with financial institutions. ---
Coordinate the opening of bank accounts. --- Coordinate the closure
of bank accounts. --- Prepare and coordinate required documentation
on the setup and closure of bank accounts as directed. ---
Coordinate signatures with authorized signers on bank forms. ---
Set up and maintain online banking functions. --- Assist on cash
disbursement matters as it relates to draw funding. --- Prepare and
post journal entries. --- Perform bank reconciliations. --- Receive
and dispatch checks for VOANS and projects in operations. Assist
with accounting functions related to the pre-development and
development of Housing projects within the Real Estate Housing
Development Department: --- Process payments (i.e., wire transfers)
to vendors upon receipt of draw funding. --- Enter updates to
schedules as assigned. --- Timely responses to request from Housing
Development and Finance teams, lenders/ funding authorities,
investors, etc. --- Provide support to the Housing Development and
Finance teams on internal and external reporting requirements. ---
Provide support to the Housing Development and Finance teams on
real estate closings and perm conversions. --- Perform monthly R4R,
Insurance and Tax payments for assigned projects. --- Perform
monthly journal entries on prepaid insurance, accrued real estate
tax and accumulated depreciation for assigned projects. --- Prepare
monthly Service Coordinator and Grant Draw Requests for assigned
projects. --- Assist on updating crosswalk spreadsheets as it
relates to project draw funding. --- Handle Commercial monthly
lease payments for assigned projects. --- Complete w-9 forms for
entities when requested. Support the Accounting Manager and Senior
Accountant in managing the following accounting/ finance functions:
--- Assist with real estate closing & post-closing processes. ---
Solve problems and respond to accounting issues as they arise. ---
Assist with analyzing and identifying areas for improvement to
increase efficiency and/ or improve internal controls. Other
projects as assigned by Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager or
Controller.
