Job Description:
The Digital Communications Manager is responsible for supporting
a variety of communications initiatives within the Catholic
Charities USA's (CCUSA) Communications and Marketing team. The role
will focus on producing content and building engagement across our
social media channels and web properties and, secondarily, include
some project management and coordination roles. Self-motivation,
flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to successfully
handle multiple projects are essential to this position. The role
reports to the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer (CCMO).
This is an in-office position.More DetailsPrimary
Responsibilities:--- Develops and implements online communications
plans that promote the initiatives and goals of CCUSA and its
programmatic areas, such as housing, food, immigration and
integrated health.--- Leads engagement through social media
accounts, including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.--- Works proficiently inside a
content management system to update the CCUSA website, maintaining
design, content and navigation standards.--- Designs and implements
a comprehensive organic and paid search campaign in coordination
with Marcom team and third-party collaborators, making
recommendations regarding website content and SEO.--- Analyzes and
monitors social media trends - generally and with other social
services nonprofits - and measures CCUSA's performance in
comparison. Uses available data to measure effectiveness and
recommend data-informed strategies. Uses Google Analytics to
understand campaign performance and overall site traffic patterns
to optimize approaches accordingly.--- Represents the brand voice
for CCUSA in social channels and proofreads all communications
before being distributed or posted. Writes clear, concise, and
grammatically correct copy.--- Uses the department's project
management platform to build project schedules, forecast hours for
projects, coordinate with different teams to ensure that projects
start and finish on time and that all stakeholders have reviewed
and approved them in a timely manner.--- Manages the publication of
two email periodicals: CCUSA Today and the Weekly Digest for member
agencies.--- Works with the VP for External Relations to monitor
media coverage for CCUSA and communicate with CCUSA staff and
member agencies via email with relevant news items about CC and
strategic priority areas.--- Represents digital channels in
big-picture planning and ideation sessions in support of campaigns
and large-scale events.--- Educates CCUSA staff and member agency
staff to optimize social media to advance the priorities. Stays
abreast of new technologies and trends and shares those
perspectives within the Marcom team.--- Processes invoices, updates
budget and conducts monthly financial reviews with the
CCMO.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Awareness that in off-hours the role requires monitoring of social
channels and being available to share communications when critical

planning, managing and executing social media programs and

HTML/CSS a plusEducation & Experience:
--- BS/BA (or equivalent experience) in communications, marketing,
journalism or related field--- A minimum of five years of
professional experience with a demonstrated command of managing
digital properties for a brand and leading multi-faceted
projects.Work Environment:
