ARGENTUM is the leading national trade association serving companies that own, operate, and support professionally managed senior living communities in the United States.We seek a Grants Manager to execute all grant compliance and fiscal activities through the grant life cycle phases, including pre-award reviews, post-award monitoring and administration, and final closeout. This position reports to the CFO.This is a highly responsible, hands-on, and detail-oriented position that manages federal grants on behalf of Argentum. This position develops strategies to ensure grant administration, compliance, systems, and processes adhere to federal requirements. This position maintains a high level of professionalism with internal and external relationships and assists the Chief Financial Officer in the development and implementation of goals, reporting, and procedures relating to accounting, grant management, and grant audit and monitoring preparedness.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Grant ComplianceMaintain knowledge of federal grants and respective budgets to assist in compliance with finance and administrative guidelines, deadlines, and auditsEnsure compliance with federal requirements as outlined in the grant agreement, including tracking matched and leveraged resources and allowable costs according to Federal Uniform GuidanceMonitor and oversee grant and contract complianceReview and monitor agreements with sub-grantees and consultants to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and reporting requirementsServes as liaison to auditors regarding federal grant awardsProvide organizational leadership on grant administration and agency rules and regulations relating to compliance issuesEnsure that overall performance activities and related documentation and reporting are done in compliance with grant requirementsWork with various department staff to ensure the grant complies with federal auditing and regulatory complianceEnsure appropriate internal controls are maintained for all contracts and grants management functionGrant AdministrationReview and provide approval of all expenditures related to grants following the departmental budget and ensure all expenses are allowable and properly allocatedFile progress reports via the FFATA sub-award Reporting System (FSRS)Manage internal and external databases of employer and apprentice recordsSynthesize and analyze program performance data into meaningful, concise statistical reports for fundersSupervise the preparation of narrative reports for government fundersReconcile accounting records and approve invoicesAdminister controls over financial expenditures, financial reports, and budget modificationsAssist with grant application budget and data supportPrepare program budgets, reconciliations, and reportsOversee site visits from fundersMonitor SubawardsEnsure sub-recipient monitoring procedures are compliant with federal and other applicable regulations and are consistent with sound business practicesMonitor sub-recipient compliance with federal regulations and the requirements of their sub-recipient agreements through fiscal risk assessments, audits, and other mechanisms applicable to sub-recipient monitoring. Recommend actions necessary to resolve issues/concerns and appropriate levels of sub-recipient monitoringProvide guidance in interpreting and executing applicable regulations and sub-recipient award terms and conditionsRequired Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experienceBackground in accounting, finance, business, or public administration or closely related fieldAt least five years of grant experience in auditing, monitoring, financial management, state and federal grant administrationExperience overseeing and executing federal grants and contractsExperience with federal fiscal regulations, CFR Cost Accounting standardsAbility to use databases to generate queries and reports on grant activitiesExperience with SalesforceProficient in the use of MS OfficeUnderstanding of the Code of Federal RegulationsKnowledge of grant processes and practicesFinancial management and compliance experienceExperience with SalesforceProficient in the use of MS OfficeCompetenciesExcellent organizational, time management, oral/written communication, and critical thinking skillsMust be detailed oriented, able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and able to collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituentsAbility and willingness to learn new systems, techniques, and proceduresSubstantial experience managing complex government grantsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsAbility to efficiently operate and maintain focus within a fast-paced environmentThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during core flexible work hours. This position currently has a one day in office requirement on Tuesdays. Some travel is expected.
