Rights Strategy Leaders in implementing the human rights strategy,
including co-developing high-impact solutions to address human
rights risks and impacts in Johnson & Johnson's own operations and
supply chain. The role will report to the Enterprise Sustainability
Organization.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will have
several areas of responsibilities, including, but not limited
to:Supervising And Advising* On an ongoing basis, monitor human
rights issues, risks, developments, and benchmarks, including
legal, regulatory, and policy requirements; inform Human Rights
Strategy Leads, Enterprise Human Rights Governance Council (EHRGC),
and other key-stakeholders of these issues, risks, developments,
and benchmarks.Lead Human Rights Inquiries And Responses* Serve as
internal global point person for requests for information on the
enterprise's human rights risks and impacts in relation to its own
operations and supply base.* Build and lead a solution (including a
process and a content repository) to enable efficient responses to
the growing number of human rights-related queries/questionnaires
received from customers, governments, regulators, investors, civil
society, the media etc; coordinate with internal customer-facing
groups and Subject Matter Expert (SME) groups to formulate and
issue responses.Training And Capacity-building* Identify the
ongoing need for human rights education and training within the
organization and work with the Enterprise Human Rights Governance
Council (EHRGC), internal and external training SMEs, and
functional groups to develop and update training plans and
materials.Internal Audits* Work with Environmental Health & Safety
team to coordinate internal social audit program (as part of the
enterprise's human rights due diligence work): advise on
established and applicable standards, customer and/or industry
requirements, government regulations, and other relevant standards
for social audits; supervise overall corrective action trends and
progress; report out audit results to EHRGC as necessary.* Liaise
closely with the Global Procurement Human Rights in the Supply Base
Program to align on social audit best practices and other
complementary efforts to identify, handle and respond to supply
base related-human rights risks and impacts.* Work with Corporate
Governance team to coordinate disclosure of audit activity and
outcomes.Remedy Ecosystem* Build a process flow to receive, triage,
and assign human rights complaints related to our own operations
and supply base: This work will focus primarily on complaints to
our Credo Integrity Line: identify the relevant internal functions
to investigate alleged human rights violated; establish a process
for the investigation of alleged human rights violations by vendors
to the enterprise; work with Corporate Governance team to
coordinate disclosure of complaints and remedy.* Provide inputs to
the Human Rights Strategy Leads to inform a strategy for the
enterprise to engage in other approaches to receive information
about legitimate human rights concerns raised by internal and
external partners to help the enterprise prevent potential harms to
rights-holders and avoid complaints (either publicly made or to the
Credo Integrity Line).External Communications & Disclosures* Work
closely with the Corporate Governance team, internal SME groups,
and third-party providers to draft, revise or coordinate edits to
various company statements, disclosures and communications, and
responses to ESG ratings questions in the human rights
space.Qualifications* A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required;
Advanced degree in either Human Rights, Law, Political Science,
Public Policy; human rights related course work is preferred* A
minimum of 8 years of business experience related to any
combination of Human Rights, Supply Chain, Community Impact,
Government Affairs and Advocacy, Sustainability, Corporate Social
Responsibility or Risk Management is required* Experience
implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
(UNGPs), preferably in a company setting, or as an external
consultant working closely with internal corporate stakeholders is
preferred* Human Rights Impact Assessment Experience as well as
International Human Rights Exposure is preferred* Multi-country and
sector experience across geographies of varied sizes and businesses
is preferred* Proven track record to shape complex global programs
and orchestrate their implementation in a matrix organization is
preferred* Experience in establishing and maintaining strong
internal & external relationships across boundaries and cultures,
ability to interact with diverse environments is required* Proven
Project Management skills and track record for developing effective
multi-stakeholder engagement is required* Comfortable in dealing
with ambiguity is required* Result driven, bias for action, can
challenge the status quo is required* Excellent oral and written
communication skills with ability to influence. Ability to
facilitate alignment across groups/regions* This position can be
based at J&J location in the United States or Europe with an
option for remote work and may require up to 20% of travel both
