Job Description:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is at the forefront of cloud
computing, providing scalable, reliable, and secure solutions. Our
team is looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead regional
engineering projects across our data centers, focusing on
optimizing infrastructure and promoting sustainable solutions. As a
key member of our colocation regional engineering team, you will be
responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing mechanical
systems and processes that ensure the optimal functioning of our
facilities. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary
engineering teams, engage with contractors, and adhere to global
engineering standards to maintain AWS's reputation for operational
excellence. Design mechanical infrastructure for data centers,
including HVAC systems, piping, and fire protection. Lead the
technical review, specification, and execution of new projects and
retrofits. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations,
electrical engineers, project managers) to ensure project
compliance with codes, standards, and best practices. Perform and
review engineering calculations to support system designs including
load analyses and energy balance. Manage multiple projects
concurrently, ensuring timely completion and quality. Monitor
emerging trends in mechanical engineering to integrate sustainable,
innovative technologies. Profound knowledge of mechanical
engineering principles and data center operational requirements.
Expertise in HVAC design and operation, fluid dynamics,
thermodynamics, and mechanical systems. Proficiency with CAD
software and engineering simulation tools. Strong project
management skills with a track record of delivering projects on
time and within budget. Excellent communication and teamwork
capabilities. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance
Life Insurance 401k PE (Professional Engineer) or equivalent
certification preferred. LEED Accreditation or similar
sustainability-focused qualification is advantageous. PMP
certification a plus for project management excellence.
