Overview
Mechanical Engineer (BATS-2023-18176):
Bowhead seeks a Mechanical Engineer who will work as part of a
multi-disciplined team generating solutions for Department of
Defense and other government customers. The team's focus is on
designing, analyzing, producing, testing and delivering innovative
prototypes.
Responsibilities
Working with senior engineers, the Mechanical Engineer will review
existing designs for producibility and suggest changes, as
required; create new drawings, as required; coordinate with machine
shops and other production facilities to ensure delivery of
conforming material; witness and/or perform receipt
inspections.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
analyzing drawings
designing hardware
reviewing test and inspection documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited
college.
Experience with mechanical systems engineering design software
tools (such as SolidWorks or ProEngineer)
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and
outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to
work alone or as part of a team
Machine shop or manufacturing experience is desired.
Hands-on experience in factory, shop, or construction is a
plus.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain security
clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for
Secret clearance at this location.
