Our team is currently seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to support a Naval Air Systems (NAVAIR) program. This position is onsite at Patuxent River NAS, MD.
Responsibilities for the Senior Hardware Engineer include:

• 
  Research, analyze, and assist in the implementation of network architecture solutions
  
  
• 
  Provide expertise and direction on network engineering and architecture requirements
  
  
• 
  Provide high-level oversight to define requirements, evaluate options and recommend solutions to meet customer needs
  
  
• 
  Assist in developing a roadmap for the network architecture that will include plans to enhance functionality, improve security, simplify, improve performance, and reduce cost across various applications
  
  
• 
  Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, as needed
  
  
• 
  Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software
  
  
• 
  Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems network operations
  
  
• 
  Troubleshoots network performance issues. Analyze network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions
  
  
  Required Skills and Experience:
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Clearance Required: Secret
    
    
  • 
    Master's Degree in an Engineering or Technical Discipline
    
    
  • 
    Substitution: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Technical Discipline and at least 16 years of related computer and networking experience
    
    
  • 
    At least 10 years' progressive networking experience is required including design, modeling and simulation, and security of diverse scope and scale networks
    
    
  • 
    Experience with emerging technologies, both Hardware and Software related
    
    
  • 
    Detail-oriented with the ability to support assessments in a technically complex and dynamic environment.
    
    
  • 
    Strong interpersonal relations skills
    
    
  • 
    Excellent verbal and written communication
    
    
  • 
    Work effectively with others in a team environment
    
    
    Desired Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • 
      10 years of experience in providing network expertise to efforts for NAVAIR and/or other DoD Programs
      
      
    • 
      Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CNNA, CCNP
