Development tasks also include the design of logic using CPLD, FPGA and microcontroller devices, the development of Printed Circuit Boards, interfacing hardware/ advanced sensors to embedded computers, development of advanced motion control system, creation of schematics BOMs for Electrical system of Laser Radar. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: --- Design, testing, of printed circuit boards (PCB's) including programming of CPLD/FPGAs --- Design, fabrication and integration of electrical and electronic hardware including power supplies, cabling, production test equipment and other circuit board applications --- Design and testing of advanced DSP algorithms using relevant IDEs --- Development of control and testing applications using C and C++ --- Support all areas of operation including troubleshooting production issues and development of automated testing regimes. SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS: Essential --- 3+ years' experience with Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or 5+ years' experience with Bachelor's Degree. --- 5+ years experience in Printed Circuit Board bring-up experience from schematic, layout, qualification and deployment. --- Ability to create schematics in ORCAD (or equivalent) catering to Analog and High Speed Digital design. --- Supervise PCB layout vendors for completion of designs. Maintain PCB designs and resolve any BOM or schematic issues. --- 5+ years of experience in RTL development using VHDL/Verilog for Altera and/or Xilinx CPLD/FPGA or other SoC. --- Exposure to data capture and analysis with MATLAB and Simulink --- Experience with oscilloscopes, Spectrum and Logic Analyzers used for debugging and testing PCBs --- Experience with testing, repair and maintenance of printed circuit boards (PCB's) with basic soldering skills and building cable harnesses. --- Self-driven to solve complex problems as an individual contributor or part of cross-functional team with high visibility. Desirable --- Experience with Mentor Graphics PADS. --- Experience in RF/Radio design, High speed Acquisition electronics or Camera image processing. --- Experience designing advanced motion control algorithms for high accuracy rotary and linear stages. --- Exposure to designing/testing signal processing algorithms or testing with TI Digital Signal Processors. --- Exposure with QNX OS or real time Linux. --- Exposure to Industrial Metrology equipment is a plus Core competencies Be pro-active: --- Open to new innovative ideas, processes and technology --- Pro-active interaction with production personnel to understand processes and techniques and constantly try to apply skills for optimizing current process by sensing shop floor needs. --- Provide input in the Continuous Improvement Process in the facility Seek new knowledge: --- Identify and attend seminars and training that are beneficial for role and product. --- Identify latest trends in design principals, components and advanced techniques which are applicable to projects on Laser Radar. Ability to move the Laser Radar around for testing, while it is on a stand with wheels.
