Job Description:

What You Do At AMD Changes Everything

At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible. We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies - building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the "extra mile" to achieve unthinkable results. It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world. If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

Principal HPC Engineer-GPU - NA

The Role

We are looking for an established Principal Engineer to join our growing HPC Centre of Excellence (HPC COE), to lead and collaborate with our Business Unit on the technical engagement of the large GPU-based clusters in North America. In addition to being customer and partner-facing this is a 'hands-on' role working both independently and with other AMD engineers to tackle technical HPC performance issues, collaborating with our customer-facing Field Application Engineering 'FAE' and Sales colleagues, our GPU Business Unit, and other key engineering groups (Architecture, Software, Platform). Following AMD successes with Frontier and El Capitan you will play a major role in growing the success and market penetration of the AMD GPU as it applies to HPC and therefore have a high degree of visibility within the company.

In addition to individual contributors, we are also keen to hear from engineers who in addition to the above knowledge and ability may also have some experience in formally managing technical teams. It is vital however that you have maintained a strong 'hands-on' ability at every point to lead any opportunity and with a skillset that matches an individual contributor. With this in mind, there is an opportunity for the individual to step up and lead the GPU team within the Centre of Excellence.
