Overview:--Xator is seeking professional Audio/Visual (AV) Field Engineer with 5+ years' experience in the design, schematic preparation, integration, and test of complex audio visual systems. Work Environment: Full-time 40 hour week when assigned to a domestic location. Full-time 60 hour week when deployed overseas. Travel: This position requires approximately 50% travel to various overseas locations over a calendar year. Domestic travel may be required for training and coordination. Citizenship/Passport/Security Clearance: The candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TOP--SECRET--security clearance. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The AV Field Engineer will be able to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems. That includes testing, troubleshooting of system components, and functions.
  • The AV Field Engineer will have experience with Viso/CAD to create drawings and be responsible for redlines after the install is complete.
  • The AV Engineer will have experience with installation and/or troubleshooting of Access Control and CCTV Systems.--
  • The AV Engineer will be responsible for all rack building, labeling, cable management, and testing of new AV system installations
  • The AV Field Engineer must understand Control System and/or DSP program and commissioning. They must be able to Upload and manipulate code for AV equipment such as DSP (Biamp/QSC/Extron) and upload and manipulate code for Crestron, matrix mixers, and switchers, VTC systems.
  • The AV Field Engineer will have experience with various LCD/LED Video Wall systems (Planar, Samsung, LG) and installation practices.
  • The AV Field Engineer will be able to configure IP addressable devices and have a basic understanding of data networking
  • The AV Field Engineer will handle other responsibilities as assigned.
  • The AV Field Engineer will have copper and fiber termination and splicing experience.-- Physical and Mental Requirements:
    • Must be able to pass a pre-deployment medical clearance. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
      • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
      • Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
      • Minimum five years of AV experience is preferred
      • A four year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience--
      • General CTS Preferred, or ability to obtain with in 1 year of taking position.
      • Ability to study and obtain CTS-I with in 3 years of taking position
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • The ability to work well under pressure with strict guidelines
      • Proficient in MS Office with an understanding of AutoCAD
      • Ability to read blueprints and system wiring diagrams
      • Possess and maintain an excellent understanding of A/V best practices
      • Hands-on experience with electronic security systems (i.e. access control, CCTV, intrusion detection)
      • Basic network/telecommunications knowledge (fiber, CAT-5, RJ45 connectors)
      • Previous experience with fiber optic installation practices, automated access control systems, intrusion detection systems, A/V systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX, Planar), and CCTV is highly desirable
      • Skilled in programming of audio DSP units from multiple vendors
      • Crestron/AMX programming experience
      • Understand basic IP Networking
      • Likes to travel
