Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in
Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher
of the Visually Impaired certification and 1 years Teacher of the
Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet
these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time position
is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) serving
K-12 students in a school located 45 minutes south of Washington,
DC. This contract opportunity runs through the current school year
with an expected assignment until late May. Responsibilities: -
Provide specialized instruction and support to visually impaired
students across K-12. - Manage an average caseload of approximately
22 students. - Collaborate with educational teams to develop and
implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). - Conduct
assessments and adapt materials to meet the diverse learning needs
of students with visual impairments. - Maintain compliance with
state education regulations and participate in required training
and meetings. Qualifications: - Active Virginia Department of
Education certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. -
Valid clearance for Virginia Department of Social Services
background check. - Current tuberculosis (TB) test as per Virginia
state requirements. - Experience working with children who are
visually impaired, with preference given to candidates with up to 2
or more years of relevant experience. Location and Schedule: -
On-site work required; remote or hybrid arrangements are not
available. - Full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. - Contract
duration from start date ASAP through May 29, 2026. Benefits &
