Job Description Will be assisting technologists at UPMC Hanover and other outpatient diagnostic locations as needed. This position will work 8 hours per week with set days negotiable. Includes holiday rotation. \n Must be a 2nd year Radiology student. \n Responsibilities: \n \n Depending on modality, may utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction and documentation of image data and completes procedures according to protocol under the supervision of a Radiologist or Technologist. \n May perform daily equipment inspections, warm up procedures and follow Quality Control Program under supervision of a Technologist. \n Assist Radiologist and Technologist setting up contrast; however, will never be responsible for loading or priming the injector. \n Obtain quality images while following radiation safety standards and protocols. \n Assist with positioning and performing exams but should never hold the detector or patients for radiation procedures. \n Arrive patients, track exams, scan scripts, and schedule exams in the Radiology Information Systems. \n Assist Radiologist and Technologist in performing modality specific exams. \n Maintain clinical proficiency for all completed competencies and equipment skills. \n \n Must be an active 2nd year student in ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT, or NMCTB approved school. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: \n Basic Life Support (BLS) \n Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) \n Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal \n Act 33 with renewal \n Act 34 with renewal \n Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal \n \n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
