Associate General Counsel, Special InvestigationsMeta is hiring
an Associate General Counsel to join a team of attorneys
responsible for handling privileged and complex internal
investigations on matters relating to a host of legal risk areas,
including anti-corruption, cyber-security, anti-money laundering,
securities, competition law, international trade and fraud. This
attorney will also help Meta assess and identify potential legal
and regulatory risk as well as identify programmatic areas for
which the company can assess and craft ways to strengthen our
system of accounting, compliance and integrity
controls.Responsibilities
- Conduct internal investigations of matters relating to
anti-corruption, cyber-security, anti-money laundering, securities,
competition law, international trade and fraud and other areas
involving potential criminal and regulatory liability.
- Retain and manage outside counsel relating to investigation
matters.
- Ensure investigations result in remediations that enhance
Meta's compliance controls and make the company's robust compliance
infrastructure stronger.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex
legal challenges.Minimum Qualifications
- J.D. or foreign equivalent.
- Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility
to obtain registered in-house counsel status.
- 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney,
including at a law firm and/or in-house or government
experience.
- Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling
skills.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting internal investigations.
- Experience managing investigations in the government, at a law
firm, or at a company.
- Experience building relationships and working in a cross
functional team.
- Experience advising on anti-corruption, cybersecurity,
anti-money laundering, securities, competition law, international
trade or fraud.Compensation: $226,000/year to $304,000/year + bonus
+ equity + benefits.Individual compensation is determined by
skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation
details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate,
monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus,
equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base
