risk.General SummaryUnder general supervision, but in accordance
with established policies and procedures, performs a variety of
routine, semi-complex and complex accounting duties. Performs
research duties, receives and proofs accounting documents, posts
totals to the general ledger, reviews internal records, and
reconciles accounts.Major Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for
performing research duties to include the fulfilling of Subpoena's
under the guidance of management. Performs various accounting
related duties like preparation of departmental reports, data
entry, and records maintenance. Assists in the month, quarter, and
year end closing and financial reporting process including account
analysis and reconciliation. Assists with the various accounting
duties to include organizing and updating financial records.
Assists with the annual budget process for USSFCU. Works with the
Director of Financial Accounting to provide analysis of monthly
budget variances. Serves as a back up to any Accounting duties
assigned to others in the department. Responsible for reconciling
member accounts and intercompany accounts. Providing accounting and
financial support to management as needed. Develops improvements in
the department functions such as data processing, etc. by
suggesting and documenting new procedures, and suggesting system
enhancements. Complies with all applicable Rules, Regulations and
Statutes of the NCUA and other appropriate governing bodies to
include but not limited to: Credit Union Bylaws, Bank Secrecy Act,
Fair Housing Act, Fair Lending Act, and Fair Credit Reporting.
Performs other duties as assigned.Experience and
Skills:Education:Associate Degree in Accounting.Experience:
Financial institution experience preferred.Skills: Proficiency in
math and attention to detail required. Knowledge of basic
accounting principles required. Proficiency with computer
applications such as Word and Excel required.Communication: Ability
to communicate verbally and in writing with others is essential.
