Our client is a national non-profit organization that ensures the benefits and retirement plan funding of a major employee union. The organization is currently seeking a talented, dependable Senior Accountant to join their team. In this position, you will use your knowledge and skills to prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, build budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and manage internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates need to bring strong analytical skills to the role and should be capable of handling challenging, fast-paced work environments. Your responsibilities

• 
  
• 
  Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  
  
• 
  Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
  
  
• 
  Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
  
  
• 
  Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
  
  
• 
  Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
  
  
• 
  Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
  
  
• 
  Engage in various department-wide initiatives
  
  
• 
  Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary
  
  
• 
  Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  Requirements
  
  • 
    
  • 
    Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
    
    
  • 
    Excellent attention to detail
    
    
  • 
    Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
    
    
  • 
    BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
    
    
  • 
    Microsoft Excel experience
    
    
  • 
    General ledger experience desired
    
    
  • 
    Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
    
    
  • 
    2+ years of overall general accounting experience
    
    
  • 
    Knowledgeable of ERP systems
    
    
  • 
    Able to manage time well
    
    
  • 
    Excellent communication and organizational skills
    
    
  • 
    Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
    
    
  • 
    Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
    
    
  • 
    Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
